Garden Churchyard

Garden Churchyard

The churchyard was laid out as a garden in 1965 at which time the gateway that had led from the east end of the church to the churchyard, which had previously faced onto Leadenhall Street, was installed against the wall of the garden.

It has its own side access, if necesary, and access to the kitchen, toilets and also the other halls if all spaces were to be hired.

According to church records of 1565 the churchyard was occasionally the venue for performance of plays by groups of travelling actors and it has also been used for summer gathering with a jazz band. We hope that this beautiful small garden can again be used by City workers as a place of gathering and socialising.
